![]() Horns, toenails, and rib cages become the bladed edge for swords or arrows, while dropped enemy clubs, spears, and, in some cases, severed arms function as handles. Every enemy drops something you can use to turn into a new weapon. I didn’t particularly care for fighting and avoided most encounters when possible - though somewhat contradictory, I really enjoyed fusing weapons. Weapon degradation is still a thing, although I do appreciate that there’s an in-game reason now for why everything breaks so easily. It’s strong and has a higher rate of fire than the Plasma Pistol, but it’s still slow enough that it isn’t great at long range.Tears’ combat remains pretty much unchanged from Breath of the Wild. Plasma gun: Essentially a more powerful version of the Plasma Pistol, with the ability to charge a powerful burst, but also the potential to overheat and leave you with a cooldown period. The Lascannon is often able to stun opponents in a single blast, leaving them open for a deadly follow-up. This has a much lower ammo capacity than the Stalker Bolter, but this is its only real disadvantage. It’s an effective weapon, but it is made somewhat less appealing because of its lack of unique characteristics. Storm Bolter: This behaves much like your basic Bolter, but with a much higher rate of fire, and reduced accuracy at longer ranges. Unlike most guns, the Melta is a viable alternative in situations where melee seems strongly favored. It has very limited ammo, but it can be extremely powerful in the right situations, and there is no gun more effective for crowd control. Melta Gun: Like a typical videogame shotgun, this fires a wide blast effective at close-to-mid range. It suffers against aerial enemies, however, and it’s useless at long range. It’s also just one of the more powerful guns in the game in terms of overall damage, and it’s great for stopping charging Nobs or Chaos Marines. ![]() This is the best weapon for handling crowds at mid-range because of its excellent splash damage. It launches sticky bombs in an arc, which can then be detonated afterwards, or even detonated in mid-air before landing on a target. Vengeance Launcher: This is an extremely powerful weapon. This scoped weapon is highly accurate and reasonably powerful, but not so much that you won’t want to concentrate and try to line up headshots whenever you can. Stalker Bolter: If you’ve ever played a shooter before you should recognize a sniper rifle when you see it. It behaves almost identically to the Bolter, but it’s more powerful. Kraken Bolter: This is a permanent upgrade designed to keep the Bolter relevant in the later stages of the game. It’s tendency to quickly overheat renders it ineffective in most scenarios, however. Unlike the Bolt Pistol, it does have its unique advantages, namely the ability to unleash a powerful charge shot. Plasma Pistol: This permanently replaces your Bolt Pistol as your unlimited ammo weapon. When overwhelmed up close, it’s not particularly effective, nor is it a good choice against heavily armored foes. It’s not particularly powerful, but it can be effective, especially at range when fighting from cover. It’s also fairly accurate, but it’s low impact and low rate of fire make it generally ineffective.īolter: This is a light, accurate, versatile weapon with a high rate of fire, suitable for all ranges. It’s the perfect tool for crowd control in melee-centric areas.īolt Pistol: The only real advantage to the Bolt Pistol is that it enjoys unlimited ammo. Despite slow speed and short combos, the Thunder Hammer’s stuns are second to none, at times capable of stunning several enemies at ones in a massive blast. This will greatly impair your versatility, but the trade-off is still tempting. The Thunder Hammer is heavy, and will prohibit Titus from using any weapons other than the permanent ones in his top and right slots. Thunder Hammer: Hands-down, the most powerful melee weapon, but it comes at a price. ![]() This is the best balanced melee weapon of choice, and a good default sidearm for situations where you don’t know what to expect. It isn’t as fast as the Chainsword, but it’s still capable of the same kinds of long combo chains and it’s potent at stunning enemies. Power Axe: This is a heavy-duty melee weapon with some weight behind it. ![]() It opens up longer combo chains than the Combat Knife, and thus a superior ability to chain into a more powerful stun when facing stronger enemies. Chainsword: Lightweight and speedy with a powerful slice, this is the trademark weapon of the Ultramarines.
